Residency Program Coordinator
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in our program. The Internal Medicine Residency Program at BronxCare Hospital Center is one of the largest producers of primary care physicians in the nation. Our philosophy of “Integrity, Compassion and Quality” is deeply incorporated into our learning process and delivery of our services. Our trainees and faculty members come from various cultural and economic backgrounds, with the common interest of caring for underserved population of the Bronx. Our program provides an excellent environment, which fosters the growth and development of young physicians and prepares them for successful and rewarding career in both academic and clinical settings. We offer strong clinical experience that is complemented by didactic academic activities and clinical research. Residents and faculty are encouraged to use a team-based, patient-centered and cost-conscious approach to medical care and education. This gives our trainees, an enriching experience where grateful patients and their families see them as doctors to the community. Our graduates have had tremendous success on the ABIM certifying examinations as well as in securing practice positions and competitive fellowships. Several residents and faculty members have received awards for research presentations at both regional and national conventions. Representation of our faculty members in academic committees of national professional societies indicates our commitment to lifelong learning and academic growth. Employers who have hired our graduates view them to be “ready for practice on day 1”. Several of our graduates have joined us as faculty members as they find the environment very nurturing, challenging yet satisfying.
